November via Minolta / Ilford Pan

Ah, film... I'm so happy I've gotten more into this and started taking more photos. The moments my cameras have caught on film are somehow more atmospheric and meaningful, and have taken me to places I'd normally wouldn't end up at. So here we go - my first Ilford Pan version!

I really love the Aotu Mansion  凹凸大厦
I remember first spotting the building back in spring of 2016. The funny 凹凸 aotu characters caught my eye first and then I noticed the amazing symmetry of the building. I now live a few streets away from the building that's situated on Shunchang road - which I find amazing, as I had only a vague idea of its location.
History-wise, the building was actually the site of the country's first gourmet powder factory, built in 1923, with the aim to break the domination of Japanese food products on the Chinese market.
The factory itself had been moved to Changning district in the 1940s. As of then, the building had been badly renovated and covered in white mosaic, with some old-style concrete patterns still remaining on the doors and eaves.
I found some articles from 2012 that said the building will be demolished to make way for office buildings, but it's still standing there, so not sure what the status is. However, the buildings around the factory had been demolished and an entire living block had been emptied out... so we all know where this is heading...
