The Forbidden City from Jingshan Park
Taago arrived from Shanghai yesterday - it's also Tomb sweeping holiday, the 清明节 Qingming jie, so we're all having a long weekend.
I showed Taago around the Forbidden city, took him to climb the hills at Jingshan Park and then we walked all the way through the tourist-trap known as Nanluoguxiang, all the way to Fangjia hutong.
Baita Pagoda, which is on a little island in Beihai park, as seen from Jinghsan park's hill.
The CBD from another angle
Old men in Fangjia hutong fiercely playing mahjong. Like really fiercely.

We hung out at Ramo, which is a colorful & lovely place in the hutongs with lots of veggie options. I'm a fan.
Agnes joined in later and we headed to Cafe Zarah as well.
