Tiananmen & Dada with the LoveLoveNYC collective

DSC_0034
Believe it or not, yesterday was the first time for me at the Tiananmen square!
//

To be more specific, I met up with the guys from lovelovenyc, who had a gig at Dada Bar this Friday. They're also shooting some videos for a couple of tracks by Bohan Phoenix  (listen here!), so I'm kinda hanging out and trying to help as much as possible (but who am I kidding, I'm mostly just hanging out haha).
//
Tegelikult sain seal kokku lovelovenyc kollektiivi kuttidega, kes esinesid samal reedel Dada Bar'is.

The guys had to get to Dada for a soundcheck, but we totally forgot that getting a cab on a Friday at 6 p.m. is a real challenge. We ended up getting a random car that passed us by and offered a lift. Somehow we managed to squish all 6 of us on that car (5 people in the back seat, um, totally okay) and this little lady driving it was so hardcore and manoeuvring through crazy Beijing traffic - she was awesome.
We met up with Howie Lee, who's one of the founders of the Do Hits collective in Beijing, had dinner and headed over to Dada.
Sidenote: listen to Howie's 'Eastside Sampler', which is a mix of old traditional Chinese/Taiwanese music and just really mad beats - it's amazing, I loved it instantly when I first heard it about half a year ago and obviously I was excited to get to meet Howie.
//
Saime kokku Howie Lee'ga, kes on Pekingi Do Hits'i kollektiivi üks eestvedajaid, käisime õhtusöögil ja suundusime Dadasse.
Lisamärkus: soovitan soojalt kuulata Howie 'Eastside Sampler'it, mis on vana traditsioonilise Hiina/Taiwani muusika ja vägagi värskete biitide sümbioos - see on imeline. Ma kuulsin seda sampler'it esimest korda ca pool aastat tagasi ning olin sekundipealt fänn, seega olin ülimalt elevil, et Howie'ga tutvuda sain.

This was an awesome experience and I'm happy & honoured to be able to see up and close, how these mad-talented people are working, woopwoop!
Once again, proof that ANYTHING can happen in China!
