Mul oli kolmapäev ilusti ära plaanitud - või noh, mis eriline plaan see on, peale kooli raamatukogus passida 'til the end of time ja õppida reedeseks eksamiks. Aga nagu ikka, pole mu plaanidel ettemääratud sujuda nii, nagu vaja ja tegelikult veetsin terve pärastlõuna sõbra pool muffineid küpsetades, köögis segadust luues ja prantsuse kontsessioonil ringi tiirutades. Kuna Curtis kolis suht hiljuti justnimelt ühte nendest art deco stiilis kortermajja, siis otseloomulikult see kombo (küpsetamine ja ajaloolise atmosfääriga kodu ehk kõik, mis ei kuulu Donghua ülikoolilinnaku territooriumi alla) jäi peale!

I had this fabulous plan for Wednesday - or erm, it's not much of a plan to spend the day studying at the library after Chinese classes, but you know, we had exams coming up on Friday and all. But of course, my plans kind of go the opposite way and so I spent my afternoon baking cupcakes, making an overall mess in a friends kitchen and strolling along the French Concession. Curtis had just moved to a new place at the FCC into one of those awesome art deco style houses, so that combo (baking and a home with an actual historic atmosphere ... anything, that is not situated at the Donghua campus) was unbeatable!

Curtise ema käskis kassitoitu ka tuua, sest juhuslikult kaasnes uue korteriga hunnik metsikuid kasse, kes käivad ainult sööki nurumas, aga pai teha ei lase :D

68 grammi... tõsiselt? Ma ei tea, miks, aga see ebaloogiline kaal häirib mind... miks mitte 50 või 100 grammi? Isegi 60 grammi oleks arusaadav! (ei, mu OCD ei löönud praegu välja)

Cupcakes'idest pilti pole, sest mascarpone-kakao kreem oli üsna ebaatraktiivset värvi ja ükskõik kui palju šokolaadi ma peale ka ei riivinud, siis fotogeenilist välimust nad lõpuks ikkagi ei saavutanud.. vähemalt oli maitse hea!
(ja taigen maitses ka hästi, aga kodus hakkasin hiljem muretsema, et omg, ma sõin toorest hiina muna sisaldavat tainast ja ma saan salmonelloosi ja suren ära ja mida veel :D Õnneks elan veel ja kõht ei valuta - ma naasen siit riigist raudse immuunsusega ja ükski euroopas valitsev tõbi ei murra mind vist never)

No pics of the cupcakes, because the mascarpone-cocoa icing on top of them made them look kinda unattractive and no amount of grated chocolate could make them a teeny bit photogenic. Atleast the taste was good!
(And the dough was yum also, but later at home I totally freaked out at the tought of eating dough with raw chinese eggs in it and I could totally see myself getting salmonella and dying in my sleep :D But hey, I'm still alive and my stomach handled the raw eggs without complications - I'm sure that once I get out of this country, my immune system will be so well-trained, that no European disease can break me - ever)
