Taipei!

taipei

I spent the second week of October in Taipei
Somehow I thought I'll never return after that one trip there, but there I was again.

2016 in a nutshell

January

I greeted New Years with Anna-Lisa, Vee and a bunch of others at someone's flat - to be honest, we were afraid we won't make it there before midnight. But yes, NY started off well and on January 1st, Anna-Lisa cut of her hair (with my blessings, of course).

(click for more - it's a long post!)

 Taipei 101

I'm well aware I'm behind with blogging!
This will likely be the last batch of Taiwan pics, after which I'll do a recap-post of what I've been up to for the past October (aye, how tie flies!!!)
Work & school, all that stress, phew.

More bits of Taipei

streets of taipei
One thing I really loved about Taipei - the narrow alleys with all these cute lush plants, vintage shops and cafes.
//
Mis mulle eriti Taipei puhul meeldis - pisikesed kitsad kõrvaltänavad, kus igal nurgal olid potitaimed, second hand poekesed ja kohvikud.

Sun Moon Lake, PT. II

taiwan
Day two at Sun Moon Lake - after breakfast, we headed out to see the Wenwu Temple (日月潭文武庙)not far from where we stayed.
The temple is huge, although not very ancient, as one might expect. Truth is, this one was rebuilt in the 1960's to appear bigger and more 'Chinese'.
//
Teine päev Sun Moon Lake'i juures - peale hommikusööki läksime uudistama Wenwu templit.

Sun Moon Lake, Pt. I

taiwan
I arrived to Taipei on Wednesday night.
While Thursday was spent being touristy around Taipei - Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial, Xidingmen shopping street and meeting some of Kevin's friends and co-workers - Friday was reserved for traveling.

Taipei City

DSC_0213
I did it, I made it out of China.
A week ago I landed on a magical island south of China - Taiwan.
The people I met, the things I saw and experienced are nothing that I would've dared to expect in my wildest dreams. This world is full of surprises. If you're willing to open up to these, of course.
